MULTIPLE PROJECTS - ONGOING
I like to observe problems and solutions that I use in my daily life, because this forces me to practice identifying opportunities and increases my repertoire. Two studies that stand out are my MBA course completion project and a redesign I did of an investment platform I use.
MBA Conclusion Project
I’ve always really enjoyed studying about investments, and one problem I’ve noticed is that people who don’t know what to invest in rarely have a goal related to that investment. They usually want to “save money”, but they don’t know why. Having this objective associated with the investment is extremely important both to help with the discipline of investing an amount every month and to understand which investment is the most appropriate. For example, if I want to invest money to buy a house, it makes sense to invest in something more long-term and that has a higher return. If I want to buy a car, it doesn’t make sense to have my money frozen for 10 years.
After validating these hypotheses through desk research and interviews, I compiled all the information I discovered into a persona, so I could quickly recall my users’ main pain points and connect the features I would design with these needs.
I also designed an user journey map, to have more clarity on how to deliver value at each stage of the customer’s touchpoints with the problem/solution.
Finally, before starting to design the screens, I created a UX Canvas to ensure that there were no gaps in terms of user pain, value proposition, and technical and business requirements.
The proposed solution consists of providing a canvas where users could add an element that corresponds to their goal, define the values and track the evolution of their investments.
For example, if I want to invest money to travel to New York, I could add the Statue of Liberty to my canvas, and as I get closer to my goal the figure will complete itself, representing that I am getting closer to what I crave. This makes the purpose of the investment tangible and provides visibility, which consequently increases engagement.
AGF+
AGF+ is a platform designed to help investors make the best decisions regarding a dividend strategy. My pain using this product was mainly related to the information architecture, where similar things were distributed in different places, and there was little or no grouping of related information. The first part of my study consisted of analyzing everything that existed within the platform in order to have a high-level view and simplify the information architecture, making the navigation flow more intuitive and less complex.
With the data organized, I drafted a wireframe of the dashboard to test whether the new organization and hierarchy really made sense.
The last step was to design a high-fidelity prototype, making the application look more modern and highlighting the most important information.
